A 15-minute checklist to make your WordPress site AI-search ready

If your site runs WordPress, most of what makes it AI-search ready is a few clicks away rather than a rebuild. Here's a practical, in-order pass you can work through in about 15 minutes.

1. Connect and scan (2 minutes)

Install the AIO Optimiser plugin, generate an API key from your web dashboard's API keys page, and connect it. Pick your most important pages — homepage, key service or product pages — and run a scan on each. See our plugin guide if you get stuck.

2. Fix titles and meta descriptions (5 minutes)

For any page flagging a weak or missing title or meta description, generate an AI rewrite, check the suggestion (and any flagged terms) against the real page, and approve. If you're using Yoast or RankMath, the plugin publishes directly to the field that SEO plugin actually reads.

3. Add one H2 to your thinnest page (2 minutes)

Pick whichever page scored lowest on heading structure and add at least one clear subheading. This alone is worth real points and takes seconds in the block editor.

4. Add structured data to your homepage (5 minutes)

This is the one most WordPress sites are missing entirely, and it's usually the single highest-value fix available. Use the content-improvement suggestions to generate a JSON-LD block from your real page facts, then add it via your theme's custom code area or an SEO plugin's schema field.

5. Re-scan and check the score moved (1 minute)

Run the scan again on the pages you touched. You should see the score move visibly — if a signal didn't improve the way you expected, the explanation text will tell you exactly why.
